This app uses the mobility and power of the iPhone and iPad to enable beginners and upper beginners of Japanese to improve listening, reading, and their vocabulary.
Japanese Conversation through Dialogues for Beginners comes with five categories--each with 7 to 17 real-world dialogues. All dialogues are designed for beginners of Japanese and are recorded by native Japanese speakers (male and female).

▸ All sounds are recorded by native voice actors and actresses (over 1,500 sound files!)
▸ Tap a single line to hear just that line.
▸ Tap the play button at the top of the dialogue to hear the dialogue read naturally line by line.
▸ Turn on pause for repetition to practice speaking what you are hearing
▸ Hide/show romaji and English translations in the Options Menu

Nearly every line from every dialogue is packed with cultural notes and hints for correct usage. Just tap the information icon for notes to pop up along with every word from that line defined. Just tap any word to hear it spoken. We want this to be a seriously useful tool for learning Japanese! In all, we have recorded over 1,500 sound files for all the dialogue packs!

Great apps. Easy to understand and have a great and clear voice.
I have been trying to learn Japanese on my own for quite some time. This app provides useful dialogue and you get to hear the sentences spoken in the native tongue. Even more helpful is the word-by-word breakdown when pressing the "i" button along with useful grammar tidbits. You can choose to show or hide Romaji or English: but if you really want the greatest benefit - forget Romaji. It slows the learning process. Bite the bullet and learn hiragana and katakana. The kanji used in this app is perfect for beginning Japanese. Highly recommended!!!
I was feeling a bit stuck in my do-it-yourself 日本語 studies; finding this ap was like a breath of fresh air. I enjoy listening to the whole dialogue at once to see what I can understand, then going back line by line, using the "i" button for more info in English. Happy that I can turn off distracting romaji in dialogues, but were still stuck with it in vocabulary section in the current version, though does make word searches easier. Very enjoyable & useful ap. Makes for faster study & learning than text book, & the Japanese speakers are clear & right on, just the right pace for my ear.
